Lavrica → Kočevje
I had to go to kočevje so that we'd be ale to shoot some filming process in a local tv, named tv kočevje, for our school project. this is why i left ljubljana early and went to lavrica to a bus stop, from where i knew there is traffic to kočevje. i got a ride surprisingly quickly, bearing in mind it was saturday. the guy named ciril was a trucker and ex hitchhiker, owning a… (read on in Trip)

Ljubljana → Nova Gorica
i was in a hurry and then one generous italian trucker named stefano in those small iveco trucks stopped and he even spoke some slovenian :).

|Domeny → Ljubljana 1,371km 11||28 September 2015|
|Puzol → Domeny 425km 6||26 September 2015|
Domeny → Valencia
i was hichhiking when two trucks stopped and i ran to the one that was closer, the locals in there said they probably didn't stop for me, however, the guys in the first truck said just the opposite, so we went on towards barcelona :).
a spaniard offered me a ride when heard me asking round
it was that i told them i wasn't going to barcelona straight at the beginning, so they already took a turn towards the city when i realized i was probably fucked. we stopped on the first gas station and i started asking round if it was a good one for passing barcelona. and a girl heard me doing so, offering me a ride to hospitalet, which actually turned out to be the best… (read on in Trip)
a kind pair from bolivia agreed to take me to vilafranca. i was in fact a bit scared of them because they had no problem stealing something in the gas station and had absolutely no shame when the guy caught them. at the end it all turned out good and they were really kind. mixed feelings though.
a guy named nacho took me a bit further =)
|19 September 2015|
Lleida → Domeny
two kind guys took me there. one that was driving told me that he had a portuguese wife and in his view the highest quality of life in europe was in spain and portugal. his brother, who lives in switzerland keeps complaining about the weather all the time, however, this one in catalunya always has sun :)
a kind guy named andrés who worked for monster energy. it was interesting what he told me, that is that they have all meals paid by the employer
finally i continued from porta de barcelona
two ex hitchhikers augustin and antonia were happy to help me make it to girona :)

Andorra la Vieja → Lérida
i was waiting for a ride in pretty much the city center of andorra la vella and there came a trucker in no time. i was surprised as in spain truckers don't really give you lifts. but i got an explanation that in andorra they got paid the insurance for 2 persons and thus there is no problem taking people =). i decided not to go to the border but to stop in sant julia i… (read on in Trip)
i got a ride at mcdonalds in sant julia in no time, however that's where i made my first mistake. instead of getting out of the car in la seu, where the known hh spot is, i went out a bit further on a gas station in montferrer. pablo was a very kind delivery boy from la seu, who worked in andorra for way higher paycheck. he was a hitchhiker and with best intentions he drove me… (read on in Trip)
i finally got a lift by a guy who didn't really like the cops for being constantly fined for speeding and driving drunk haha.
1st disaster that day
i got a ride by two gentlemen in a big black mercedes who dedicated themselves to business with africa via senegal. we discusses spanish politics and the upcoming elections in catalunya, el tio paco and economic condition of slovenia. i promised them to give a feedback on the price of logs in slovenia. whatever :D. they promised me to drop me on the best spot possible and… (read on in Trip)
i got a ride by a lovely teacher maría from oliana. i was surprised that a lonely woman gave me a ride from the first place and she as a teached was a pleasant person. we were discussing their school system and what she does to prepare students for real life that is waiting them. i found it interesting that she decided to move round the country so that she doesn't get too much… (read on in Trip)
definitely a miracle :D
when i was walking, there passed a van, which i later on found at the edge of the road with a flat tyre. i kinda helped them and they kindly agreed to take me out of that mess to balaguer =).
i made it to balaguer and it was already dark, so instead of patiently waiting at the traffic circle, where i would've gotten a ride probably or decided to sleep at the mall, i started to ask the few people that remained there. i found a lovely couple, who were familiar the the idea of hitchhiking and offered me a ride to a gas station in direction lleida. i though that was an… (read on in Trip)

La Seu d'Urgell → Andorra la Vieja
i was on a parking just in front of repsol in la seu d'urgel when i heard a horn. i instunctively turned round, seeing a woman waving to me. it was a lovely romanian family going to andorra for shopping to the first shopping mall, e-leclerc.
i had to walk from e-leclerc upwards to san julian to a bus stop on the entrance, from where i hitched a guy with his son :). we didn't have much time to talk, but anyways he himself offered me to take me tomcdonalds so that i'd have free wifi :D. a traveler for sure :)

Zaragoza → La Seu d'Urgell
then i walked from a cepsa gas station to a restaurant on the rroad and from there it can be tricky to find a ride as people speed, however you are seen from a great distance so maybe they stop. i got a ride by asking 2 elderly guys who stopped on a parking there
a romanian with russian ancestors named volodya took me from ponts to organya gas station, a little bit farther than he intended to go. as a hitchhiker he was aware of a possibility that i was doing a race, so he ofered to take me wherever i wanted just to help me =) =).
a lovely catalan family stopped in organya and were happy to take me to seu. i liked their attitude towards catalan. they had no problems speaking castellano with me, however inbetween them they were speaking in catalan :)
i walked a lot to come to a random gas station from where i got a lift to another one, supposedly better :D. it wasn't. driving time was 5 minutes
after a LONG walk from repsol on the national road to the industrial zone and finding a cepsa gas station there came a guy, who took me to autovia in direction lleida and saved me <3. obviously i had to ask him when he was refueling as otherwise nobody would've stopped because it's mostly trucks there and company owned cars. driving time was 3 minutes xD
i asked one family who was in front of that restaurant whether to go to alfajarin and stay on the autopista or go on national road. when we were talking about this and that they asked a couple to take me towards lleida :D. it was my favourite ride i'd say because it was 2 doctors helping animals. pilar is a vet and she has a clinic and a shelter for animals. when we were… (read on in Trip)
a random guy who took me to lleida bypass road from where i was able to continue. it was old national road towards barcelona. driving time was 10 minutes :)
a family taking me towards seu, which was a very important move. from there on it was easy :). manel and sara kindly agreed to take me and they even put me forward :D.
a guy of my age took me from balaguer gas station on the entrance to the town to the repsol in ponts, a bit upwards. he hs speeding so badly i just waited to get out of the car :l. anyways he helped me a lot and it was a special kind of experience driving 140km/h on this road.

Burgos → Zaragoza
i needed to go to zaragoza, where i planned to see a companion from ljubljana, however, he is still in palencia and can't host me. fortunatelly i got ofered a ride and housing by jaime's family, so there we went with his two aunts and cousin mirta :). on the way we did a mini interview over antibiotics and animal treatment as she studies veterinary. although i knew i had a… (read on in Trip)

Almería → Burgos
just a guy taking me to aranda del duero.
i finally got out of almeria in the northern gas station and it made me extremely happy :D. it was also because the guy was a trucker in a cargo van, which is supposedly very strict in spain and the guardia civil is said to fine you as soon as they see you in the vehicle that is not private. whatever, cesar took me to granada, being so kind that he went out of his way to take… (read on in Trip)
a guy delivering products to gas stations took me to a gas station a little bit backwards towards granada so that it was easier for me to get a ride towards madrid.
i found a guy named jose going to work and he was happy to have a travel companion going towards jaen. on the way we got joined by his comrade and together they took me a bit out of their route to an excellent gas station on jaen outskirts from where i continued.
this is the best story of my voyage, partly because i finally made it out of jaen outskirts and partly because of the extremely good guy who took me round greater part of spain, where i saw things i was taught about by people who've never seen them :D. manolo, a worker in tourist industry was going from malaga to palencia, where his company had a fair. on the way he showed me… (read on in Trip)
two bask people who were happy to take me to burgos and they also gave me their phone to talk to jaime, my friend, who came to me on a gas station in burgos :)

Benidorm → Almería
i never expected that in murcia region there were little gas stations every 1-2 kilometers and it made me understand why hitchhiking is difficult in southern spain. how on earth are people going to appear in precisely this gas station where you find yourself. the problem is that vast majority of people go to nearby towns and can't take you although they are willing to do so,… (read on in Trip)
I actually started my trip on a gas station on the highway between benidorm and villajoyosa but i put it like i did as i was unable to find exact address. anyways i got pretty much stuck there as all of the few people who came were going to alicante and then finally i found rafaele, who took me :). he was a pretty nice guy and as a spiritual leader he was able to teach me not… (read on in Trip)
i found myself again on a gas station where only a few people were and i was begging them to take me. so after quite a short time there came a van with two people there, a couple in their 40s. i asked them for a ride and were rejected, which didn't make me feel bas, as i was already kinda preparing myself to the fact that i'll have to sleep there. but when they came out of the… (read on in Trip)

Gerona → Alicante
a dutch guy living in southern catalunya saved me from outskirts of barcelona giving me a lift to a small gas station just before tarragona.. he was so kind that he started speaking english when he noticed i was a foreigner :) :). although i speak some castellano it was a good gesture of his but the gas station is a tough one. beware of the coastal road ;)
a middle-aged guy who seemed to be dying gave me a lift to barcelona bypass road. he has travelled the world and i have to give him big thanks for taking me out of girona :). i hope he's going to be ok as he went to a special medical check up in barcelona.
as waiting time i'll put 25 minutes although it was way shorter. that's because at first i was asking truckers at… (read on in Trip)
a retired lieutenant
i was kinda desperate already in that small gas station when i saw a truck and almost ran to the driver begging for a ride and he accepted me :). i had to take of my shoes and put them on the stairs of the truck. the interior was extremely tidy and well organized. everything had its spot and there wasn't a piece of rubbish anywhere. as i asked him why the truck is so… (read on in Trip)
it was already late and i thought of spending this night on the gas station. there was extremely few people, mostly truckers going to sleep. i suddenly saw a guy eating a sandwich, who wasjust about to finish it and go forward. i approached him, asked for his direction and surprisingly he gave me a ride.
i said surprisingly because one young pair rejected me, saying that… (read on in Trip)

Sarnano → Domeny
i was waiting together with my dear friend nini in sarnano, italy and there stopped Daniele, an elderly attorney, who continued to work so that he could support his jobless children. on our way to macerata he bought me a croissant and cappucino, on the highway close to ancona he also invited me to lunch :) :). thank you Daniele :).
friendly driver Giulio gave me a ride to Imola.
i was given a ride by Roberto, who is from molise but works in switzerland and once a month goes home to spend some time with his son. as his relations with wife are bad it was better for him to change and start something new abroad. he was extremely kind and bought me a panino, capuccino and gave me 5eur. big thanks Roberto :)
i desperately needed somebody that would bring me to direction genova, so i was extremely happy to find somebody and fortunately i managed to convince him to give me a lift to the first gas station after piacenza, direction genova :).
again a miracle happened :) :)
i was looking for a ride towards genova and i found somebody relatively quickly. but there was a problem that the guy went directly to the city and not on the bypass, that is towards france. at the end he suggested us going to savona, so that i'll be able to catch somebody who also comes from direction torino. again i couldn't believe what i heard until it was proven right :D… (read on in Trip)
a lovely french driver with tunisian origin gave me ride to monaco :). as he was only speaking french we had very little to talk about because my knowledge of this language is pretty much non-existant :/. anyways i was able to get this ride :D
final ride :)
i barely slept on a bench i found a bit hidden on this gas statio close to monaco. fortunately there was no rain :). in the morning when i started to look for a ride i found nobody appropriate refueling, however i did find a lithuanian trucker who was about to leave. fortunately he spoke english so we were able to communicate :). as i was extremely tired, he offered me to… (read on in Trip)

Liubliana → Sarnano
i was happy that i found this van driver in no time because he went straight to italy :)
i got stuck at a toll station in venezia est and i went to some workers asking for direction although i kinda knew it. then after a while one of them (Giordano) took me to the next gas station :D. for driving time i just calculated 1/12 as it was only 5 minutes long.
a soldier named Damiano, who also spent 3 years working in persia took me to an autogrill just after the exit for direction bologna where i intented to go next.
i was looking for a ride to bologna but everybody went to venezia or forward so after quite some time i changed the direction as the autogrill had overpass and i started looking for somebody going direction verona. unlike on the other side there were extremely hostile gas station workers who threatened me with all kinds of stuff and so i moved to the parking lot and found a… (read on in Trip)
a friendly guy luigi had no problems talking me towards my direction :)
a guy named Ernesto agreed to take me although he was in a small truck and this kind of drivers normally reject you in italy. he took me to civitanova marche, meaning almost to the end. and he was willing to speak spanish with me :D
i wonder if it can get better than that
i came to civitanova marche where superstrada to macerata starts and began asking the few people who were behing the toll booth where i could hitchhike to sarnano. so when i asked Francesco, who lives close to civitanova, he decided to take me to an autogrill on the way, from where i could hitchhike. as we came he was just about to go home when he stopped and waved me to come… (read on in Trip)

renault 4 and a guy talking about spiritual masters
after an hound and a half i finally got a ride offered to vipava and then another hitchhiker came to us running and so all of us went together. he soon began talking about how he's going to establish a bank of some kind and about his spitirual experiences. there was also a lot of info about the inner sun and the hollow earth theory, which in fact he just called it hollow earth… (read on in Trip)

i got dropped out on a gas station in vipava on the highway and i soon approached a man cleaning his front window and as the car had austrian register plates i asked him in enlish where he was going. he probably noticed my slavic accent so he asked me where my home was. so i answered and we foind out that they were actually slovenians. i had to ask his wife for permission and… (read on in Trip)
