a student of tourism and heritage from slovenia, now living in alicante, spain. a couchsurfer and a hitchhiker :). trying to enjoy life and do positive things, trying to mean a positive change to people whom i share rides with =).
La Venta del Viso → Málaga
as soon as i came to the gas station i started asking people that were there and got a ride to center of málaga in no time :) i was lucky because it was early in the morning so the guys that took me kept quiet all the time so i was able to fill my batteries a bit and be sort of ok during the day :)
it was that i tried to go to Málaga directly but i spent 3 hours waiting to make it to a 30km far away gas station which was a bad`place. so i decided to walk to ciudad de transportes hoping i was going to get a better ride there towards the capital. nope so i had to do something since i had no place in almería to go back to and this time i indeed went towards Murcia to make a… (read on in Trip)
i just came to the gas station in puerto lumbreras and i realized i already knew it from 2015 when i was there. there were some vehicles so i rushed to ask a guy in his van and he took me in the right direction :) this gave me hope that possible i'd make it to málaga in the same day
there were some people going to sevilla but i didn't realize i should have gone with them to antequera so i had to spend the night there in guadix.

Boliqueime → Granada
a friendly guy named manuel took me into his van when he was on his way to Cádiz to deliver mariscos
i saw two english and i was sort of sure they were to take me and so it was :). i did a mistake not having gone with them to Málaga bus i stopped in estepa, trying to catch a ride in either direction when going to almería. i totally failed because of that.
an ex hitchhiker and a person who loves to travel took me and left me in a gas station that was supposed to be good. again i did a mistake not having gone to puerto lumbreras with people who were going to Murcia or further. this travel wasn't my lucky one :D
a lovely woman named maría del Carmen did her best to take me to a gas station in granada capital and again i didn't think too much of going to Murcia with people who would be ready to accept me. later i took bus so i got in almería in time

Coímbra, Portugal → Boliqueime
i was crossing the bridge over the railway in pombal when, holding my cardboard towards the bypassing vehicles but looking in my front direction. despite this a lovely girl stopped and this surprised me a lot. she was totally into the idea of helping people and got animated for hitchhiking. i hope i can meet her when back in Portugal :)
i was on the outskirts of leiria and holding a sign saying sul when two guys driving a van offered me a lift to Lisboa. it was a brazilian and a portuguese. the first had his own company and was totally into the idea of hitchhiking and travelling. it was nice indeed to be with these talkative guys :)
a lovely woman had no problems taking me a bit further down towards Setúbal so that i had it easier to continue direction south
a crazy and extremely friendlz portuguese named vitor took me in his super cool brand new mini :)

i was hitchhiking and a woman already passed me when she suddenly stopped, efectually blocking the road. i jumped into her car, fully of fruits and vegetables. she was such a crazy being and incredibly interesting. i would've gone with her all the way to slovenia if given a chance. she went off the highway to drop me in coimbra. when we arrived she just gave me some fruits and… (read on in Trip)

two spanish who invited me for a lunch and took me despite the fact it was a company car =)
i finally got a ride from a very little gas station on a4.
a romanian trucker named Dan stopped me :). i was really surprised when he did this and he explained it was so because in his country everybody hitchhikes =). he was a highschool professor of history and a master in international relation. worked as a mercenary in afganistan and decided to drive a truck for it enables him to travel :).
a trucked named Manolo felt mercy on me. he was talkative, cool and gave me some food at the end :). god bless him

i was going towards north and Cass gave me a lift towards estepona. i was being with a person who always picks up hitchhikers, has always helped other and is really somebody who gives back faith in humanity. he always gives a phone number if people have need. i did have one and he hosted me in his appt in estepona :).

a half Russian half Bolgarian named Vladimir Smirnov, fluent in portuguese, spanish, russian, bulgarian and english. it was really nice to meet somebody from the east who could clearly point out differences in between two worlds
it was two americans who were happy to take me and for they had their work i was able to rest a bit :).

it was two spanish in their x6 who were surprised at first but then the gas station clerks convinced them to take me. they were so kind they drove me to algeciras bus station.

two guys who were really not into picking up people but then the gas station worker helped me. after talking to them they invited me to dine them and it was a really nice feeling =)
a bus driver who was going to pick up some people gave me a lift and invited me for a coffee =)
a security going to work picked me up and drove me a bit out of his route to take me to galp gas station, which was a really good spot :).

Miguel was happy to take me and he even went off his road to take me to the city =) he was very understanding and it was nice to practice portuguese with him =). i was really lucky to have asked him for ride. he was speeding all the time. i'm thinking that Portugal is also really good for hitchhiking

on a small spanish countryside gas station a gallego Jose Antonio took me to lisboa. i was lucky as he was speeding so it was in fact possible that i was going to make it to coimbra with his extensive help =). luck was again on my side as he normally doesn't take hitchhikers. it was in fact 2 hours, however in portugal it's one hour less than in spain, what to do other than… (read on in Trip)

a portuguese trucker of 24 years named Alex, who first denied me the lift and then he changed his mind and was my first ever portuguese driver to whom i was trying to talk in portuguese =). the trip from burgos to coimbra is divided to several trips as otherwise i don't get the accurate distances done in each country.

a guy named Lorenzo took me all the way down from burgos to close to Talavera. he had to buy some supplements in the middle of the night and as he parked on the road, the cops came. they searched the car and us. it was really police state from first hand. but all in all i was really enjoying what was going on :D

this guy named Nacho much be one of the best people ever. he took me way out of his route towards tarragona on the ap2 towards lleida. and not only to the first gas station but to the second one, which was 24/7. incledible. and all this out of the wish to help other people in need =)

Bérgamo → Gerona
it was a young couple going home from vacation.s at first the guy said they didn't have space but his girl corrected them, stating they were going to make it. being stunned about what i was doing they took me a bit out of their way to a supposedly good gas station on the mid bypass.
it was that the guy (italian) was really suspicious of me and didn't want to take me at first. then i somewhat managed to convince him and after taking photos of my id he turned out to be really cool :). sadly i didn't thing about going towards bologna at first and changing direction there when an italian couple offered me precisely this.
a couple in their 50s who had no problems taking me :). there were some people who came to me and offered me a lift.
a french family who started apologizing me they had no space and then found it anyway xD. really nice people <3
a lovely spanish family who took me straight to girona :)

when i came to a gas station close to maribor, going back home from dortmund, i saw a lone woman in her x5 and though whether or not to ask her for a lift. well thanks god i tried since she was really happy to take me and we spent good time together =). Jitka was a businesswoman with great ideas and nice life story =)
as soon as i made it to this gas station, for which i decided since i enjoyed the previous ride soooo much, i saw a car with tolmin coat of arms. i though this was my jackpot and it really was. the guy brought me almost to my home, which is way more than i imagined initially :)

Dortmund → Maribor
this was a very kind turkish guy named Sadik, who tried to help me, but i ended up in the city of Duisburg, leaving which was quite an issue.
a traveler named Alice gave me this lift, driving her camper towards Essen. she was in love with Tarifa, where she surfed a lot with her family :)
this was a random guy, whom i asked for a ride in duisburg and he barely spoke english, however tried to help me later on. he drove me through the city to the highway entrance on direction düsseldorf, which didn't help me at all, in fact it made my situation worse, however, i appreciate his willingness to help :).
a cute girl of tunisian descent named Lina helped me out, taking me to a highway entrance on direction cologne. it was a bad spot and despite this fact a guy stopped in two minutes :D. thanks again Lina <3
an ex british millitary engineer named David helped me out. i was really surprised he stopped for me with his huge land rover. while i was giving 100 thanks to him, he simply said he had a bigger car and thus he was able to have higher ground in possible arguing with others, haha :D
a polish trucker named Sebastian simply approached me and offered me a ride :)
a sales representative for a company selling medical equipment, who ws in love with spain and has traveled the world by his motocycle :). he drove a 75.000 € jaguar
as soon as i came to that gas station, i saw some slovenian truckers. they offered me ice cream and i waited with them until their pause was over, then we headed towards passau =). the gu who took me used to be in the french foreign legion and in serbian special police forces.
on a gas station by the highway i found this trucker when i was already desperate. he gives lifts whenever asked and it was a really good experience being with him :)
a croatian guy named Matej, who regularly goes to frankfurt to visit his daughter. this time he was going back by car and i was especially happy not only for such a long ride but for the fact that he himself offered me the ride. it was that first he rejected me, saying his car was full, then he changed his mind and invited me to maribor =)
